Print Design
The design process for print design generally involves several key stages to ensure that the final product effectively communicates its intended message and meets the client's desired aesthetic needs. I begin by gathering information about goals, target audience, message, and possible brand guidelines. I have a great deal of experience in print design as well as working with publications in numerous industries. I have a thorough understanding of the print industry, its competitors, and the market. I am always searching for new trends, best practices, and methods that make my work as unique as my clients. I will create initial compositions and make decisions on elements such as grid systems, typography, images, and color schemes. I will then work directly with your printer, or publication, to ensure they have all the necessary files and information to produce the exact visuals that you and I discussed and created together.

Michigan Public Health Institute
My biggest passion at my design firm is to work with nonprofits making significant contributions to society. Annually, the State of Michigan, publishes a program manual for Child Death Review. The purpose of the manual is to educate other agencies and legislators statewide and nationally on setting up programs that help combat child deaths. This piece was difficult to execute. It is not a pleasant subject for the audience. The real challenge lies in creating something that attempts to convey the scope of the tragedy of losing a child, without being morbid and turning the audience away.
Michigan Public Health Institute
Each year, the State of Michigan publishes a regional and national program manual for reviewing childhood deaths. It does not simply break them down into statistics, but it gives legislators and agencies specific ways to prevent them. The challenge in communicating this topic from an artistic standpoint lies in the difficult and heartbreaking subject matter. While attempting to communicate the catastrophe of the death of a child we still need to hold the viewers' attention.
